Elizabeth A. Greig
Dr. Greig is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Miller School of Medicine, with a secondary appointment at the School of Engineering in Civil and Architectural Engineering. She is the Co-Director of the University of Miami Global Institute for Community Health and Development. She holds a bachelor's from the University of Pennsylvania and is a graduate of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at New York Presbyterian- Cornell and holds a certificate in Community Preparedness and Disaster Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was previously on faculty. It was at the University of Miami where she started her career in Global Health, working in Haiti in 2006, focusing on disaster management and building surgical capacity in the global south. As the Co-Director of the Global Institute, she focuses on developing resilient healthcare capacity and effective disaster response in Miami, Latin America and the Caribbean. She runs the Interdisciplinary Professional Education curriculum in Disaster Management and Climate Change, sits on the Internal Advisory Board for UM’s Climate Resilience Institute and teaches in the departments of Medicine, Public Health, Engineering, and the International Administration program. Dr. Greig is also the North American Brand Ambassador for the Land Rover Defender.
