Public-Private Partnership Coordinator, Miami-Dade County Department of Emergency Management

With over eight years of experience in disaster preparedness and emergency management, Liana Aguilar has successfully led complex projects across non-profits and governmental agencies. Her expertise spans disaster response and recovery, with hands-on experience in deploying to 15 different disaster events across multiple states, including hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, and other significant emergencies.

Liana Aguilar has worked with local, state, and federal agencies, including the American Red Cross, FEMA, and Global Empowerment Mission, to coordinate vital services during critical emergencies. As a mentor, she has also led teams of volunteers, including serving as a team leader for the AmeriCorps - FEMA Corps program.

Currently serving as the Public-Private Partnership Coordinator for Miami-Dade County, Liana builds and nurtures partnerships across public, private, and philanthropic sectors to enhance emergency management efforts before, during, and after disasters. They are also deeply involved in long-term recovery strategies, resource management, and community response efforts.

Liana holds a Master of Arts in Disaster Management from Florida International University (2024) and a Bachelor of Science in International Affairs with a concentration in Emergency Management and Homeland Security from Florida State University (2017).
