Reliable, secure, and resilient interoperable emergency communications (voice, data, IT services) are key tools in protecting the Nation’s 16 critical infrastructure sectors; especially emergency communications. As technology and standards evolve, proactive planning and a partnership between CISA and the industry supports security of products by design and by default in manufacture and production of consumer products.

Billy Bob Brown, Jr., serves as the Executive Assistant Director (EAD) for Emergency Communications within the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). In this capacity, EAD Brown drives cross-divisional synergy as identified in the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Act of 2018. Mr. Brown has a robust career and experience in leading the Telecom, Next Generation Networks Priority, Priority Telecommunications Services Programs within DHS. His leadership inspires strategic team building and intentional collaboration within CISA and external stakeholders.
