About John Persano III

Joining AWS in October of 2020 as the Emergency Communications Lead, John focuses his efforts on technology adoption and implementation across the public safety ecosystem.
Prior to AWS, John was a Public Safety Engineer for SAIC under the Interoperable Communications Technical Assistance Program where he designed, led, and evaluated public safety exercise and training events throughout the United States. In addition to his training and exercise duties, John assisted the responder community with requirements development, technology identification and adoption.
Formally trained as a Naval Aviator and Intelligence officer John served 30 years on active duty and in the Marine Corps Reserves as a helicopter pilot, civil military integration officer, intelligence officer, liaison officer, and civil affairs coordinator.
