About Tim Lewis

Tim Lewis is TSA’s Deputy Federal Security Director for Miami International Airport, TSA’s Airport of the Year for 2020. He leads over 1600 security professionals providing transportation security services and compliance in Miami-Dade County, FL. Previously, Mr. Lewis served as the FSD for Fort Lauderdale and Key West Airports, Florida and received TSA’s Leadership Award. In the Air Force, Mr. Lewis commanded two Counter Terrorist Tier-One squadrons, a Wing, and all Spec Ops strategic airlift and tankers in combat operations throughout Iraq and Baghdad. He served as the Senior Security Policy Advisor for a DoD Under Secretary. Hand-Picked as the U.S. military’s security expert to brief senior Russian military commanders in Moscow on a State Department delegation. On DoD’s Joint Staff, he was responsible for security budgets and led all Combating Terrorism initiatives. He co-chaired two inter-agency security technology boards.
